Wake Forest Family Weekend 2016

Last weekend Misty and I took Triniti, Skylin and Josh to Wake Forest Family Weekend.  We had a great time visiting Brittany and her friends.

This was the first time that Skylin and Josh have been to Wake Forest.  They really enjoyed visiting the campus and hanging out with Brittany and her friends.

Below are a few pictures from the weekend.

This is the family at Brittany's house.  In the picture below, note the "ahuva" banner.  Ahuva means beloved in Hebrew.  Her house is girls Christian living.

On Friday night we attended the Alpha Delta Pi Gala for Giving raising money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation.

On Saturday morning we attended the Wake Forest Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) brunch.  This is a Christian campus ministry group that Brittany has been very involved in.  She has been blessed by this organization and all the people in it.

This is a picture of Rev. John Bourgeois speaking.  John is the RUF campus minister at Wake Forest.  John and his wife, Mary Clarke are terrific people.

The brunch was at the BB&T Baseball Stadium.  This is the ballpark of the Winston-Salem Dash - a minor league baseball team in Winston-Salem.  The Dash is a Class A-Advanced team in the Carolina League and a farm team of the Chicago White Sox.

The entire town gets behind Wake Forest Family Weekend.  This is a sign at a local Tex-Mex restaurant called The Porch.

On Saturday night Wake Forest played Syracuse.  Hurricane Matthew made sure the game had lots of rain.

The girls had a tailgate at their house before the game for all the parents.

It was an exciting game that Wake Forest won 28 to 9.  This win moved them to 5-1 (a near miracle for Wake Forest football).

The win was big enough to "roll the quad" - the historical Wake Forest celebration after big wins.

This is a picture Wait Chapel and the quad the next day.

Here is a picture of Josh and Skylin running through Wait Chapel.
