Misty's New Car - 2016 Audi Q5

Today we brought home Misty's new car - a 2016 Audi Q5 Prestige 3.0.  

 

 

 

We had the running boards put on. 

 

 

 

We traded in her 2012 Audi Q7 because it had almost 120K miles. 

 

First Day of Co-op 2016

Today was the first day of co-op for Skylin and Josh.  They are doing a homeschool cooperative taking a few classes.  Skylin is taking Spanish, Lego Story Creations, Middle Ages History, and Creative Cultural Crafts.   Josh is taking Kids in the Kitchen, American Road Trip, Spanish and Zoology. 

 

Shawn Jr Moves into Baylor

We moved Shawn Jr into Baylor today. It was an exciting, but somewhat sad, day for the Helms family. Saying "goodbye" to another Helms kid...

 

 

  

 

This was Noelle saying goodbye to Shawn last night.  It was sad but also a nice reminder of how much my kids love each other. 

 

Skylin Helms Gets Baptized

Today Skylin got baptized at Lake Pointe Church.  Happy day.  She accepted Christ this summer.

The entire family was in town for the big event.

We were joined by Grandma and Grandpa as well as Uncle Don and Aunt Vickie.

Josh Helms's 8th Birthday

Josh turned 8 yesterday and we celebrated his birthday at Dave & Busters.  The kids were all enjoying the games.  Toward the end of the night we started to evaluate what Josh might want to get in the prize store with his points/tickets.  Given the rise of the new Pokémon GO app, it is not surprising that Josh wanted a huge Pikachu.  After spending more dollars than we would like and Josh having some incredible skill/luck on a game, the kids collected the necessary 8,000 points to buy the 36 inch stuffed Pikachu.  

This is the crew singing happy birthday to Josh.  Notice the delayed singing by Reese and his roommate at Vanderbilt who were participating via FaceTime.

Instead of a game card, Josh got a power wand to play the games.  He thought he was Harry Potter.

The Showdown

This is a terrific commercial that our friend Joseph Pelegreen made for a Doritos competition. Josh is the little football player and that's our house in the background.
