Knots Landing Photoshop Fail

I was reading a story in USA Today about an 80's nighttime soap opera called Knots Landing (don't ask).  About half way through the story I came across this picture.

I looked at it for a moment thinking it was odd.  I could not really figure out way.  Can you?

Here is an enlarged version of the picture.

Do you see it?  The floating hand on the right . . .

Clearly they have "Photoshoped" someone out of this picture.   Now, I was on a mission.  I searched the Internet until I came across another, very similar picture.  Notice that this is not the exact picture, but it is clearly from the same photo shoot.  They took out not one, but two people, including the biggest star of the bunch, a young Nicollette Sheridan.

See below for a comparison.

The 2014-2015 Heath Boys Basketball Team

The Heath Varsity Basketball Team is great this year.  They have started out the season 10-0 and have a chance to have a terrific season.  Everyone has always expected that when this group of players were upperclassman, the Heath basketball program would move to a different level.  Shawn Jr's grade has always had a very talented group of kids.  They were undefeated in junior high basketball - over 2 years.  They don't have a big center or really have any one player that is of significant size, but they are fast, can shoot and will absolutely wear other teams down.  They are a group of really talented guards.  You can follow the team's progress  at http://www.maxpreps.com/high-schools/rockwall-heath-hawks-%28rockwall,tx%29/basketball/schedule.htm

It is also worth noting that the development of talent on this team was essentially fostered by two fathers - Doug Knostman (Brian Knostman's father) and Sam Talley (Camron Talley's father).  These two guys have invested a ton of time in this core group of kids since a very early age.  They have had these kids playing together forever.  They kept this group in the gym, kept them focused and made basketball a priority for over half of this varsity basketball team - you are welcome Coach Waters.

With that being said, this team also has is a terrific coaching staff.  Seriously.  Talent can only take you so far.  You have to bring a team together.  Head Coach Brad Waters, Assistant Coach Walker and the other members of this staff are not only good coaches, but great men.  They exude a fun but serious tone and have high expectations for this team.  They are also good Christian men that I trust to have a positive influence on Shawn Jr. and the other members of this team.

The result is a talent rich team that is well positioned to have a terrific year.

Skylin and Emily Ford Basketball Game

Skylin and one of her best friends, Emily Ford, had their first basketball game last weekend.    The girls are playing in the Lake Pointe Sports basketball program and are on the same team.  This was their first game.  Skylin played last year at Lake Point but I believe this was Emily's first basketball game ever.  Emily is the youngest child of our good friends Pat and Gay Lynn Ford.  It was fun to see the girls play together.  Both girls played really well.  Skylin had 20 points.

This is Emily during the game.  See the girl in the headband to her left?  I don't know that girl's name, but she is a beast.  A very good athlete and basketball player.  She will be really good in years to come.

Every time her team scored, Emily was celebrating.

Terrific smile from Emily.

Josh's Very First Basketball Game

Josh had his very first basketball game ever last weekend.  He played his first game in the Lake Pointe basketball league.  I was really happy I was home to see it!

Praying before the game.

Here is Josh asking for a wristband.  In Lake Pointe Sports they can only guard the player with the same color wristband.  Josh was confused at this concept at first because he knows how to play real defense.

Josh finally got his green wristband and got on the court later in the first quarter.  He played great.
