MadFrog 12s Ranked #2 in the Nation!

Noelle's MadFrog team just found out that they are ranked #2 in the nation by USA Volleyball. The only team ranked higher is ASICS MAVS 12 (out of Overland Park, Kansas). The difference is only .007 points! MAVS have a ranking score of 7.059 compared to the MadFrog score of 7.052. For comparison, note that the third place team has a score of 5.920.

The MAVS are the only team to have beat Noelle's MadFrog team this year. Therefore, they are certainly deserving of their #1 national ranking. We hope to see them again soon and at Nationals.

Rangers & Yankees Game with the Family

Last night the Helms Family went to the Texas Rangers game against the New York Yankees. The pitching matchup was Holland against CC Sabathia.

The Yankees won 7 to 4. Jeter went 4 for 5. Josh Hamilton and Alex Rodriguez both hit home runs.

It was a great night with the family at the ballpark.

In addition, Ivan Rodriguez retired as a Texas Ranger last night. In his ceremonial first pitch he went to the mound and Michael Young was going to catch. The announcer then said "Something doesn't feel quite right." Pudge then ran to the catcher position behind home plate and Young went to second base. Pudge then fired a strike down to second base. It was a neat moment. See story and video here.

During the ESPN televised game, airplanes were advertising for Spirit Airlines with the message "Fly Spirit to Myrtle Beach"

MadFrog 12s Lew go Undefeated and Win Lone Star Classic

Noelle's volleyball team, MadFrog 12's Lewellen won the 12 year old division in the Lone Star Classic National Qualifier tournament in Dallas this weekend. They went undefeated and finished #1 out of 122 teams in the 12 year old age group.

The championship game was a fairly good match with a team called Alamo 12 out of San Antonio. However, the victory was never really in doubt. MadFrog dominated all weekend in a good tune-up for Nationals.

MadFrog 12s at Lone Star

Noelle's volleyball team is one of the top 12 year old teams in the United States. This weekend they are playing in the National Qualifier tournament in Dallas called the Lone Star Classic. They have done great in the first 2 days winning all their games. Below are a couple great hits, with Noelle setting. The first is Alina Lam (#17) and then a crazy down the line kill by Ashlyn Rasnick-Pope (#5). Ashlyn is the best 12 year old hitter I have seen.
