Skylin and I went to Father Daughter Date Night at Lake Point Church last night. The theme was Sweetheart Hoedown - a combination of Valentine's Day and a country hoedown.

Angrify / Angrified - Noelle Helms Invents a New Word
Noelle has been using a new word she made up in the past month - "Angrify" or "Angrified".
Defined as - to be very angry or to do something to amplify anger - thus "angrify." You know, like pulling your hair out angry.
It also has different variants. Such as "angrifies." As in - "That girl angrifies me when she flirts with my boyfriend."
Getting Ready for Helms Family Pictures
We have been meaning to get family pictures done for a long time now. We finally scheduled pictures with a terrific local photographer that works under the name Chunky Monkey Photography. Her name is Heather Bush. She is such a good deal not only because she takes great pictures but because she also is very reasonably priced. Best of all, she always gives you the digital originals.
The night before the pictures we decided that we were going to have everyone take pictures in Converse All-Stars. Below is all the shoes and matching shirts to be worn the next morning.
The pictures were fun. We should have them in a few weeks.
Valentine's Day 2014
Misty and I decided to get a night away for Valentines Day this year. So we went downtown and stayed at the W Hotel in Victory park. It i a cool place.
Notice 2 things about this picture. First, the building in the middle is The Perot Museum of Nature and Science. It is a terrific (realativly new) museum in Dallas. The second cool thing about this picture is the building all the tall way to the right with the red and pink lights. This is the Bank of America Plaza and is the tallest building in Dallas. Historically this building glowed a bright green. However, recently, they installed lights that allowed the building outline to change colors. It was lighted red and pink for Valentine's Day.
On the other side of the pool deck you can look down on the American Airlines Center - where the Dallas Mavericks basketball team and the Dallas Stars hockey team play. This is called Victory Plaza.
Below are some pictures from the pool deck on the 16th floor.
We had some incredible views of Dallas.

Texas Snow Storm
Last week (Feb 6th) we had real snow in Rockwall. It was crazy. We never have real snow. Sometimes we have some ice but snow is very rare. The kids had a fun time.
Below are a few pictures from the day.
Below is a snow angel - on the driveway. :)
Sky making it snow even more.
Our pool with snow all around.
Daisy trying to figure out what this cold white stuff is.
The kids play set.
Shawn Jr. Breaks His Arm
Several weeks ago Shawn Jr. was playing in a basketball game. On a play late in the 3rd quarter, the ball was going out of bound on the baseline. Shawn jumped and saved the ball and hit the wall, stopping himself with his hands. He immediately started holding his left wrist. The coach took him out and he went back to the training room. The trainer had him move it around and he seemed alright. He had some pain but given his movement they thought it was likely not broken. However, that next Monday we took him to get x-rays. Sure enough, it was broken.
He elected to get an orange cast. A fact that annoyed his coaches because orange is the school color of Rockwall High School, Heath High School's in-town rival.
He is doing better now and just got the cast off this week. He is still in a brace but is almost ready to get back to normal activities.
